assembly instructions

Please read each step carefully before carrying out the task

  1. Place the silver adjustable base on a work table or floor, upside down and front edge forward. If you look to the left side you will see two silver screws. Remove these and the side of the base unit will easily come off revealing a fitted allen key towards the front of that left hand side. Do not remove the allen key at this stage. Turn the base unit back upright making sure that you have placed the left side cover and screws safely to one side for use later.
  2. Now take the aluminium collapsible pole provided and make it up to its full size by fixing the segments together, one inside the other, until completed. There is a ‘hook’ integrated into one end of the pole, this end is the top. Place to one side.
  3. You can now attach the header clip to the graphic. The graphic needs to be placed face down onto a work table or clean floor. Open the graphic header attachment to a suitable width and angle and insert the top edge of the graphic in to it. Ensure that the two are aligned so that the graphic will hang straight. Now, press the graphic clip back together until it lays flat on the top of the graphic. This will now be totally secure and in place. Turn the graphic over.
  4. Looking down on to the base of the unit you will see that there is, coming out of the centre, a ‘strip’ of plastic that runs the full length of the base. The ‘strip’ is attached to a roller inside the base. The roller is spring loaded and once activated enables the attached graphic banner to work in the same way as a roller blind, so that the graphic rolls in and out (up and down) from the base as required. The strip is provided as a feeder sheet on which you can attach your graphic by removing a waxed backing sheet to reveal a band of adhesive.
  5. You are now ready to attach the graphic to the plastic strip on the base unit. Peel off the wax backing sheet from the plastic strip and place the bottom edge of the graphic (picture forward) to it making sure it is correctly aligned, on to the strip, and by running your hand over that edge smoothly, fix it in place. You can, if necessary, secure the banner to the strip even more by placing a band of strong self-adhesive tape over the bottom front edge of the graphic on to the plastic strip. Once again place the graphic carefully on the work table or ground.
  6. Now that the graphic is attached to the plastic strip in the base, it is time to activate the roller system that will allow the graphic to ‘roll’ up and down when being set up for display. This is achieved in the following way: Go to the base unit and hold the plastic strip with the bottom of the graphic attached to it and pull them (now as one) taut over the base in an upward and over type manoeuvre keeping the graphic rigid and taking up the tension on the roller inside the base now while holding this in place, locate the allen key (this was uncovered in step 1 and is situated at the left hand side of the base unit, as it faces you) remove it (tension must be maintained on the graphic/plastic strip at all times while this is taking place).
  7. Once the allen key has been removed the plastic strip with the bottom of the graphic attached must be carefully and slowly fed into the base, allowing approx 4 to 6 cm intake initially, using a to n fro motion, making sure that the graphic is feeding in correctly until it rolls into the base unit almost fully, the top graphic header attachment stopping it feeding in completely. You can now replace the side cover and screws on the base unit.
  8. You can now erect the previously assembled pole into the base unit. Insert the bottom of the pole into the hole that can be found in the centre in the base unit, towards the back, making sure that the ‘hook’ is facing forward.
  9. This done all that remains is to draw the graphic header attachment and graphic up and out from the base unit and secure it to the already erected tall pole that stands tall, back centre, in the base, by means of locating, at the back of the graphic header a groove that runs the full length of the head. This groove fits onto the ‘hook’ at the top of the vertical pole. Place the graphic head centrally onto the hook and your banner and its stand is now ready to work for you.
