Prints from images on digital camera cards
We can print directly fom your digital camera cards. Formats that we can accept include:
- Compact Flash
- Smart Media
- Memory Stick
- Secure Digital
- PC Cards
- Micro Drive
New types of camera cards are appearing all the time, so if you have another format that we have not listed then please contact GoPhotography as to their suitability. Alternatively, many customers prefer to send us their files on CD-R or Zip disk. See instructions below on how to do this.
How to prepare files on CD, DVD and other digital storage devices
You can send us your digital files on CD, DVD, Portable Drives. Please set your files up according to the following guidelines:
- Files should be set up at 305 dpi.
- Files should be saved in RGB (not CMYK).
- For prints up to 12" x 8" files can be saved as jpg's, tiff's, or psd's.
- For prints above 12" x 8" files must be saved as tiff's.( No LZW compression please )
- For prints up to 12" x 8" save files at the size that you wish them to be printed.
- For prints above 12" x 8" you can save files by halving the dimensions. See explanation below*.
- Save your files in folders according to size and finish.
- Flatten images. If you wish to keep your own file in layers then save a copy and flatten it before sending.
- Give files instructional names if they are not within a print size folder i.e. susan_12x8gloss_1off.tif
- Please use CD-R's rather than rewritable CD's (CD-RW's)
*Images above 15" x 12" can be saved at half the dimensions of the required size print. For example, if you require a 20" x 16", you can half the dimensions, so you can save the file at 10" x 8". Remember to save the file in a 20" x 16" folder.
For different formats, or odd size prints, simply increase canvas size to a normal format. For example, if you require a 10" x 6" print simply increase canvas size to 10" x 8".
